Maintenance Engineer (Electrical biased) - Staffordshire - 12mth FTC - Rate Negotiable


RHA Recruitment Solutions is keen to speak to electrically biased Maintenance Engineers interested in an initial 12mth FTC, with the potential of permanent employment upon its completion, if interested.


As part of an established team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation, repair, and maintenance of electrical systems and equipment in various areas of a large manufacturing site.


Key responsibilities include, but not limited to:-

  • Equipment Maintenance: Conducting routine inspections and maintenance of electrical equipment, including transformers, motors, generators, circuit breakers, switches, and control systems.

  • Troubleshooting: Diagnosing and resolving electrical issues that arise in the systems, equipment, or machinery.

  • Preventive Maintenance: Implementing preventive maintenance schedules to minimize the occurrence of breakdowns and ensuring the reliability and longevity of electrical equipment.

  • Electrical Repairs: Performing repairs or replacements on faulty electrical components, cables, and systems. You will have the knowledge and skills to handle different electrical systems safely, ideally gained in a process industry.

  • Safety Compliance: Ensuring that all electrical systems, equipment, and installations meet safety standards and comply with local electrical codes and regulations.

  • Documentation: Maintaining accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and replacements, as well as creating reports to track the performance and condition of electrical systems.

  • Upgrades and Installations: Assisting in the planning and execution of electrical system upgrades or installations. This involves working with design teams and ensuring that new systems are integrated seamlessly with existing ones.

  • Testing and Calibration: Conducting electrical tests and calibrations on various equipment to verify their functionality and accuracy.

  • Energy Efficiency: Identifying opportunities to improve energy efficiency in electrical systems and suggesting measures to reduce energy consumption.

  • Training and Support: Providing technical support and training to other maintenance staff or operators to enhance their understanding of electrical systems and safety procedures.

  • Emergency Response: Being prepared to respond to electrical emergencies and breakdowns promptly and efficiently to minimize downtime and production losses.

  • Continuous Learning: Keeping up-to-date with the latest advancements in electrical engineering and maintenance practices, attending workshops, seminars, or courses as necessary.

This position will fulfill a critical role in ensuring the reliable operation of electrical systems, minimising downtime and contributing to the overall safety and productivity of the organisation.
